Life
2015 Update
We moved to my island home on Molokai Hawaii in 2012. We are truly retired now. We love all the sunshine and warm weather. The cost of gas is awful and so is milk but that is the price for living in paradise. I spend my time reading, writing, and painting. The work with my church and fellowship with others is very important to me. Life is good and I am grateful for all of God's blessings. We have 2 children, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
2010 Update
I am in a forced retirement. After 8 years with my last company I was downsized. No body is going to hire somebody my age and pay me what I was making so here I am. We decided to move to Southern California to be close to our daughter and our retirement dollars go further in Hemet than in San Jose. It's sort of nice not having to keep to someone else's schedule and I have enjoyed getting to know my husband of 39 years again. It took us a little bit to get use to the 24/7 after my years of commuting long distances to work. I will be taking up golf this spring. It is something I have always wanted to do but never had the time. Right now life is full and we are blessed.
The spoiled cat has died but two very spoiled dogs (1 Siberian Husky/Wolf and 1 American Pit Bull Terrier) now rule the roost. The Husky was a hand-me-down from our son and the Pit Bull ...Expand for more
is a rescued dog after he wandered into my daughter's house and refused to leave. He had been abandoned. She already had three dogs so of course she brought him to Daddy to adopt. They are both the meanest looking dogs with the sweetest dispositions. They love people and are very friendly. They have been gentle raised and trained, however dogs are dogs and we are very careful with them. I haven't done everything I wanted to but if my family genes hold true I have about 40 years left and that's 1/2 the average lifetime.
Before 2010:
I followed Dionne Warrick back to San Jose after 11 years in Reno, NV. My first marriage went bust after 4 years but the second in still holding at 36. We have two children, 6 grandchildren, and one very spoiled cat.
God has been good and continues to bless us with health if not wealth. My husband is retired and keeps himself busy taking care of me. Like some of my classmates retirement is almost a reality instead of a dream and I just want to collect some of the SS money I've been giving the FEDS all these years.
I have been going over the class lists and I remember many of the names with a smile and I can even picture how many of you looked then. The problem is will I recognize any of you now when I see you. You'll recognize me, I haven't changed that much, just as short and just a little fatter.
