Nathan's Story
Life
After GHS, I spent six years as an Electronic Warfare Tech in the Navy stationed in Pensacola, Norfolk, and Newport, Rhode Island. I wend on deployment to the Mediterranean and several trips to the Caribbean, Panama, Columbia, Ecuador, etc.
I left the Navy in 1992 and spent six years as a slacker at Radford University until they finally decided to give me a degree in biology. During my college summers, I worked at a fly-fishing lodge in northern Maine. I still vacation up there every summer.
I went to work as an environmental consultant doing stream asses...Expand for more
sments with macroinvertebrates and fish. I also have done numerous endagered bat surveys in West Vriginia and Kentucky.
Two years ago I took a position at VDOT as an environmental engineer in Staunton, VA.
I really enjoy travelling and am getting ready for my next fishing trip to Maine. Next summer I will be spending five weeks with my brother roaming around central Europe.
Oh, I also taught high school biology for a semester at Staunton River HS in Bedford County. AUGH! What a mistake! Now, I really have tremendous respect for all the teachers I have known!
