Neal's Story
After graduation I went to American River and then transferred to Sac State. Graduated from Sac State in 1966 with a BA in Physics. Worked at Lockheed Missiles and Space company for a couple of years in the Advanced Design Dept and helped to get the Trident Missile going as the kid in the back room running numbers. When Lockheed started slowing down in the late 60's I took a job at a small company in the East Bay (San Ramon CA) and started working in the field of expendable countermeasures. These are primarily Chaff and Flares that are used to protect combat aircraft from anti-aircraft missiles. Our stuff helped a lot of bold...Expand for more
pilots get home from Viet Nam and get old. I have had at least one product in service to our military continuously since Viet Nam. The little company got bought by a bigger company which got bought by a bigger company which merged with another company that sold us off.... Traveled around a bit from Northern CA to Austin TX, now located here in La Quinta in the SOCAL desert just east of Palm Springs. Still working countermeasures as VP of R&D and Business Development. Currently with Esterline Defense Technologies. Best known for my rocket powered flare decoys.
Been married twice and divorced once. Overall life is good.
