Neil's Story
I actually remember the day very well, when I went down to Mr. Brosnon's (sp?) office at Thurston and we discussed a possible major when I went to college the following year. Little did I know that "education" would occupy a majority of my life. I received a B.A. from MSU in 1971, an M.A. from MSU in 1975. Later in my career . . . an Ed Specialist Degree from Oakland University and finally my Ph. D from Oakland as well. I taught in Detroit for many years, and then moved to West Bloomfield in hopes of becoming an administrator. Instead, I fell in love with teaching again and taught another nine years. int I became assistant principal in WB, but always had a passion for technology and soon became the Technology Coordinator for that same system. After receiving my PhD, I became Director of Technology and finally after 43 years in education, retired last year. I got married in 1972 and have been happy ever since. We have two sons, 32 and 28 and are living in a home I built in the 80's after earning a builders license. Lately I have kept busy using my carpentry skills and have been updating our home, with three new decks and a new main floor bathroom. I look forward to hearing your story . . . as time goes by.
