Neil's Story

Life I live in Chelmsford, MA in a townhouse on the Merrimack River with my grown Son, daughter, granddaughter (9) and my daughter's dog (it is a full townhouse!) I'm active in the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church (which, it turns out, is where my great grandparents attended church many years ago.) My Job I ran a small software company (about a dozen people) for 20 years (time flies). I then worked for a company developing technology for homeland security as Director of Software Engineering. After all those years in management, I'm now working as a sleeves rolled up Software Systems Engineer at a company that makes side-scan sonar equipment. My hobby I'm a pilot and fly when I can (which seems to be less often than I'd hope). I own a plane and am always looking for places to go on the weekends. typical flight, College I went to Northeastern University and I was a flying Huskey! (conjures up a great image, doesn't it) Northeastern actually had a flying team. We had a great time and won the nationals in '77. After studying aviation, I went on to get a BS that combined engineering and management. Over the last two years I went back to school and completed a graduate certificate in Theological Studies at Andover Newton Theological School (ants.edu) Especially as I look toward retirement, I hope to get more involved in social justice efforts. So After finishing that certificate, I decided to go back and work on a Masters degree at Chicago Theological Seminary. It is a pluralistic school with an emphasis on social justice and, while it is hard work, I'm enjoying it. Mostly, I'm doing this remotely but do go there occasionally (but not this year!)
