Niall's Story
I joined the US Air Force in Oct 1984 and completed Basic Training at Lackland Air Force in San Antonio, Texas.
My first Air Force assignment was at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada from 1985 - 1988. While at Nellis, I helped construct buildings at several North American Air Force Bases as a Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineer (RED HORSE) structures journeyman.
In 1988, I decided to remain in the Air Force for 4 more years and relocated to Europe. I lived in Frankfurt, Germany and worked as a Civil Engineer until 1992. From 1992 thru 1996 I moved to Honolulu, Hawaii and continued work as a Civil Engineer. In 1996, I moved to Lubbock, Texas for 18 months to help close do...Expand for more
wn Reese Air Force Base and followed that with another 18 months in Bakersfield, California where I finished out my Air Force Civil Engineer Career. I lived in Washington D.C. from 1999 - 2002 to work as an analyst for the Air Force. I relocated to Portugal in 2002 for two years and continued working as an analyst with the Air Force. My final Air Force assignment was in Montgomery, AL from 2004 until 2009 as a Military Leadership Educator. I retired from the Air Force with 25 years of service. Since retiring from the Air Force, I've been working as a Federal civilian for the US Army at a Military Entrance Processing Station located on a US Air Force Base. When not working, I enjoy vacation travel throughout the US..
