Nicholas's Story
Life
Well, In 2001, I went to Job Corps and completed the business and Clerical trade. Then I had a job at New Leaf Inc and lost it. In 2002, I left my education at ITT-Tech Institute and apartment in Bothel, WA with just the clothes on my back. I became a homeless drug addict, alcoholic, and tobacco user for 2 years. I bounced around Everett, Seattle and the outer parts of it, Tocoma, Olympia, Bellingham, and ended up at a campground north of Hermiston, OR. A man showed up out of nowhere. He gave a package of hotdogs and some change. He said to me, "Keep the faith, my brother and may God be with you." I said to him, "Thanks." I came to myself and thought its been since the age of 15 that I haven't talk to God. So I called for God's help. The very next day, my friend gave me a ride to the Tri-Cities Union Gospel Mission. That night I was crying in the chapel listening to the ...Expand for more
gospel message about Jesus Christ death, burial, and resurrection for sinners. I rededicated my life to him. Then I graduated from the 13 month New Life Rehabilitation Program here at the mission. I have learned biblical application studies to have a working progress of victory from glory to glory. I'm thankful to have a relationship with the Jesus. I have been here for 3 years living a sober and blessed life because of Jesus and his finished work at the cross. I'm attending at Columbia Basin College for a AA transfer degree. I look straight for the purpose of God in my life to attend Multnomah Bible College to become a pastor. I also work as a duty man (supervisor) for the mission's men's facility. I drive a baby blue 1997 Chevy Lumina a blessed gift I got from the mission. I'm single, never been married. I have no pets nor kids. I love being a cowboy. May the Lord bless you.
