Nick's Story
Life
I would like to start by thanking all of you, who attended Woodroffe High, from 66 to 70, for making them some of the most memorable years of my life. I keep telling my daughters that these are some of the best years, they just say I'm old and senile, and its a wonder I can even remember last week.
I left Woodroffe to attend Trent University, where I majored in rugby and the Commoner Pub, with minors in biology and geography. My first real job was at Ontario Hydro Research, aquatic biology, studying the effects of thermal pollution on the Great Lakes. The job included fishing and scuba diving, with my main function, zooplankton taxonomy, (dissecting water fleas).
I left Hydro in 80 to return to Ottawa to work with the family business, secondary containment systems for underground storage tanks, plastic welding systems and sewer relining systems. I escaped from Ottawa again in '92 when I moved to Huntsvill...Expand for more
e, then Bracebridge, then Peterborough, then Downingtown PA, then Peterborough, and finally Madoc. I feel like Stompin' Tom.
I played rugby for 17 years, until my Sunday morning, day after game, aches and pains were lasting till Tuesday. These were the other memorable times of my life. It seems that the most memorable times are always spent with groups of close friends.
I am now living in Peterborough, Ontario. I have two daughters, 29 and 27, who I continually warn about people like me when I was in High School. I have my own business, Madoc Rocks, which has resulted in me finally finding my marbles, ( I realize that most of you will obviously treat this with much scepticism).
I hope that y'all will take some time and put down a bit of a bio. It is great that I finally stumbled onto classmates, and have found a bit of my past, and I would like to know what others have or have not done with their life.
