Nick's Story

In 1972 I left the US and moved to Greece. I owned a small hotel in Athens first, then moved to the island of Paros in the south Aegean Sea where I introduced that part of the world to the all-American hamburger by opening "Nick's Hamburgers," the first hamburger restaurant in Greece. Over the years, Nick's Hamburgers became a landmark on the island and a part of the local folklore, was written up in The New York Times and Vogue Magazine, and recommended in guidebooks the world over. Long live the "Big Nik," lol" Update July, 2013: I returned to Greece in January, 2008 after a 17 year stay in the US and am now enjoying retired life on Paros - an island of azure seas, golden sand beaches, fiery sunsets...and home of the "Big Nik," the best dang hamburger you'll ever eat!!
