Nickie's Story
Life
After high school I went on to ASU and got a degree in Early Childhood Education. I worked at the Home Depot on Cave Creek Road through college. My boyfriend, now husband, and I moved to Colorado while I was student teaching. I taught second grade for three years and recently we moved to California near San Francisco. I got married in July of '01 and we had our first child, a little boy, in June of '02 and our second child, a little girl, in September of '04. Life is really busy now. I am still teaching 2nd grade and am going back to school in the fall to earn my Administrative credential.
I still keep in touch with Paige, but not much of anyone else from high school. Feel free to e-mail me. I would love to catch up with some people from PV or North Canyon!
College

yed my year in Manzy. I kind of wished that I had spent another year in the dorm. I am glad that I was able to find a teaching job right away. Yes, Dave and I are still together and have a wonderful little boy and girl.
I got my Master's in Education from University of Phoenix in Colorado in '02. It was a bit challenging since my first child was 5 months old as I finished and I was still working until he was born, But, it all worked out.
Currently, I am working on an administrative credential through Cal State East Bay. Hopefully I will be done in December.
Workplace
After leaving Home Depot, I taught in Aurora Public Schools, Aurora, CO, at Jamaica Elementary for three years before having my son and staying home with him for a year. We moved to California about 6 years ago to be near my husband's family and I am now teaching third grade in Danville, CA.
