Nicole's Story
Life
Wow where to begin. I was just thinking the other that i couldn't believe that it has been more than 10 years since i graduated grammar school and almost 10 years since high school. I can't believe how fast time has gone.
My friends and i went out for a couple of cocktails the other day and we realized that we are getting old. It seems like midnight is past our bedtime and we really don't get together as often as we would like to because life is pulling us all in different directions.
It seems to be that time in my life to start thinking of making that biggest purchase of my life - buying a house. I can't even imagine writing a check that big for my down payment. I thought the check for my car was huge. It was funny because i was shaking as i was writing the check.
Well nothing huge has happened in my life since i graduated school. I have a nice job, 2 cats, living with a really good friend in a 2 bedroom apartment, and i just bought a new car (well it is new to me) - 2003 mitsubishi eclipse. I just live it.
I try to live life to the fullest and travel as much as i can. My favorite vacations are the "girl's road trips." Nothing c...Expand for more
an beat just getting into a car and driving to a place that you have never been before just to explore. Non-planned vacations are the best.
That is about it - work hard and play hard whenever i can.
Workplace
I currently work in sales in Schaumburg and love it. Who would have thought that i would be in sales. I went from the medical program where i was working on cadavers to working at Grant's Appliances. I have been working there for almost 2 years now and never realized how much there is to learn about appliances and electronics. When i first started working there, it was very overwhelming - but that goes with any new job. I love everyone that i work with and i think that is the most important aspect of a job. If you can't get along with the people that you work with, then you will not enjoy working.
My other favorite job that i had was when i worked at Hackneys. Seriously, how many of us have waited on tables to get through college. A part-time job to pay for school turned into a full-time job/full-time student career for me. I honestly think that eveyone needs to work in the food indusrty to respect any wait staff or bartender.
