Nicole's Story
I remember my Brady Elementary years fondly. I started out in Annex 3, when the school got so large that some of the classes had to be held outside of the building on the other side of the playground. It is so sad to see the population get so low that the school had to be closed. As the saying goes, "everything I needed to know in life, I learned in kindergarten."
Harding Middle School was a big change from Brady! The school was very diverse. About half of the students were bussed in. I started playing clarinet there. It was the first time that I was tracked in a student system, but it helped me ...Expand for more
to stay surrounded by other students who were serious about their studies. I would say that I experienced the very best of school at Harding, and the most stressful parts of school as well.
Since leaving Renaissance in 1986, I have lived in 5 states, graduated from the University of Michigan 3 times, and changed my name 3 times. I'm happily married, the mother of 1 daughter and 1 middle age dog, and am living in the NorthEast. I own my own business and am an activist for breast cancer and domestic violence awareness.
You'll all be happy to know that I've stopped playing the clarinet for good. :-)
