Nicolla's Story
20 years ago...graduated from EHS and moved to Socorro (New Mexico) to pursue undergraduate studies in biology/chemistry/technical writing at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (New Mexico Tech)...transfered sophomore year to play tennis and continue studying biology/chemistry/writing (journalism) at Eckerd College (St. Petersburg, Florida)...transfered back to New Mexico Tech my junior year. Graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology in 1993.
15 years ago...worked in microbiology and immunoparasitology research with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Science Division Eastern Lab in North Carolina and the Knipling/Bushland U.S. Livestock Insects Lab in Texas from 1993 to 1996.
12 years ago...studied science teaching at California State University-Bakersfield and Bakersfield College, and completed graduate/waiver course work for a California multiple subject science teaching credential in 1998.

ur foundation has invested more than $29 million in 1,700 grants serving education, learning and community development in 7 northern New Mexico counties. We are currently engaged in K-16 STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education reform and efforts to improve the health and wellness status of first-time families.
2008...I live in Santa Fe...have a fabulous partner of 8 years (Susan)...practice Nichiren Buddhism...am an avid writer and photographer (have been published in newsprint throughout the United States, contribute to national Buddhist publications, and widely exhibit my photography). I still enjoy tennis (occasionally play in USTA tournaments) and love to play/compose jazz (mostly piano, trumpet, saxophone and bass).
Far from the southwest, my parents-sisters-brother remain in the midwest/south (some near Edwardsburg). Collene lives in Chicago with her husband Seaghan Brien...Jimmy near Kalamazoo...Jenny in Bristol, Tennessee with her son Logan and husband Chris Rash...Sarah in Niles.
