Nik's Story

Life 1 German Shephard & 1 Ferret keep us company. No kids yet, but my wife of 4 years is ready anytime. We've lived in Alaska for the past 7 years and can't imagine living anywhere else...but I'm sure we'll come down from the mountain soon. She is an elementary school teacher and I'm a real estate broker & land developer. We have a very good life up here in Alaska. I'm happy to have a beautiful and loyal wife, nice home, great family and friends. Life started out somewhat rocky in high school, but once I got out of Dubuque, IA things straitened out. I don't know what it was about that place, but I'm glad I got out & wised up with my life. I know I hurt quite a few people during those years in my teens, but I've done a fair amount of tracking people down & doing my best to make peace. Some have been receptive & others are still holding onto their teenage thoughts. So, to anyone who once liked me or hated me (for various reasons to my past girlfriends), lets chat and get to know each other again....and if you don't want to, can't say I didn't try! School I've tried hard to forget much of high school. I did have a few friends and romantic relationships that I still value and think of today in different ways. I learned a lot from the experiences, more of which I came to know a few years after graduation. I've got a great scrap book on my coffee table that has a ton of high school pictures & letters. Its fun to see them with past guy friends and girl friends and remember when that was taken and what I was thinking/feeling at the time. Getting done with high school was one of the best times I can think of. College So I first went to college at Creighton University where I met my later to be wife at a party I had. After a semester, we decided to move on to a more normal school: University of South Dakota. We were there for 2 years, then decided to move up to Alaska. We were not i...Expand for more
nto the party scene, seemed like a good way to end up with something nasty & waste money. I don't care to remember college much either, just wanted to get it over with. School has never been my thing. I did however get an A in college algebra, a class that I failed 3 times in high school. Workplace Like I said before, I'm a real estate broker & land developer. This is what I was ment to do. I don't have a boss, make my own hours, and have a job that the harder I work the more money I make. We're in the 38% tax bracket, but it does come at a cost. My dedication keeps me busy 12hrs a day, 7 days per week. I rarely take more than a few hours off to do anything fun. My wife & I do hit a movie or dinner once every couple of weeks. I love my job, even the stress (which is hugh). I broker on average 1.5 million per month, which keeps me on edge. I've also started bartending school as a side gig to get me out more....kind of fits my outgoing personality. This all comes to a guy who thought he'd never amount to a hill of beans. That notion came from a few past girlfriends; boy were they wrong. The sugar daddy has left the building, hope ya'll have a nice life! Military As a strong conservative, military service should be required of all men in my opinion. Defending our homeland and watching over people is something that I've always thought important. During this time (USCG Aux and USAF ROTC) I learned a fair amount about myself and what I was made of. My confidence came back in myself and I had the opportunity to attend many different special schools that I never thought I'd see. I did all this while attending college, so that made it hard, but worth while. I became a pilot during this time and still enjoy flying for recreation today. After 3 attempts I ended up being medically rolled by the USAF for a prior surgery, but if they'd ever change their minds I'd be there in a heart beat!
