Nina's Story
Life
Well, if anyone is interested, this is me as I see me. Nothing exciting. My husband and I have been married for 27 yrs, and we have 3 daughters. My 21 yr old is on her way to Med school in august. [3.9 gpa] My 15 yr old is autistic [aspergers syndrome] and is thriving in a school where she fits in. She loves art and MANGA. My 13 yr old is my rebel. She has me gritting my teeth and growling 85% of the time. She loves music, gossip and pushing my buttons. My husband is a police Sgt. and I am working as a Nanny right now. I absolutly love it. It's like being a grandma with out having grandchildren. At one time I was and Admin. Asst. to 4 engineers at a steel company. I quit that job to be a stay at home mom. This was 15 yrs ago. I kick myself every once in while for quitting the best job I would ever have, but if I had to do it over again, I'd quit again.
I nanny for 2 little boys and I'm loving it. I didn't have boys of my own and this gives me a view of the otherside if you know what I mean. Boys really are different than girls to take care of. Our household is a mess. My husband and I work different schedules so we only see each other the average of 10 hours a week. He has almost always worked different hours than I have. [ I think thats why were still together after 27 yrs.] We never see each other. We have a lot of pets. 3 cats, 3 cockatiels, 1 big baby of a dog [we call him scaredy dog], 1 leopard frog that my oldest saved from d...Expand for more
isection and 1 fish. My youngest is planning to get an iguana when she saves up enough money to get everything she needs. It will never happen. What money she does get, burns a hole through her hand before it reaches her pocket.
Our house is small for all of us so it is very cluttered all the time.
I myself am into sewing and crafting. I love making things for other people. Right now I'm heavy into Fat Quarters. There are so many different things you can do with them. I'm also trying my hand at beading. Unfortunately I don't have anywhere to keep all my stuff so my dinning room is my sewing room. I have'nt seen the top of my dinning table in like forever. You would'nt know I have a window seat just by looking. It is stacked so high with crafting stuff that it goes half way up the window. When my oldest goes off to Med school this year I will be taking over her room as my sewing room. I can't wait to have my dinning room back. I will miss her terribly, but I'm gonna love having a room just for me!
A little about me personally. I'm in my fifties just like most you 72 grads. Unforntunatly I'm still fat and have shrunk a few inches. I'm also very menapausel. [O JOY] I have a few physical and medical handicaps but I take it all with a grain of salt. There are somethings I cannot do but they don't keep me down. My doc once called me the energizer bunny cause no matter how bad I feel I just keep going. I pray alot and ask for help from family and friends when I need it.
I belong to a book club, aarp, fop auxilary, and am considering the red hat society.
Well, thats me in a nutshell right now. BYE
