Nina's Story
You know me better as Kathy Hopper. I graduated in 1963. While at Shawnee, I was involved in the school paper and yearbook, as well as other clubs I don't even remember now. My sister Carolyn graduated in 1966. My brother Anthony (Tony, Butch, Hop) graduated from Manual High School in 1959. I went to Parkland Jr. High and Brandeis Elementary.
After high school I went to Western KY U. for a year, then transferred to University of Louisville where I got a B.A. in Engllish. Later I got my M.Ed. in administration + a Rank I. After 42 years and three retirements, I have finally stayed retired, but I might work part-time again if the right thing came along.

ried, I'm the doting aunt to 1 niece, 2 nephews, a great-nephew and a great niece. I had another niece whom we lost to Cystic Fibrosis several years ago. That is the hardest thing my family and I have ever had to endure. We still miss Kim every day.
In retirement I say what I do best is lunch and dinner. Playing bridge, reading, cross-stitching, listening to jazz, and being with friends and family are among my favorite things. When I retired, I planned to return to reading some of the classics, but I actually prefer escapist reading, particularly mysteries. James Lee Burke is one of my favorite authors. I have a hard time picking a favorite book or movie because there are so many good ones. Lately I've been watching old movies on TCM, and I've enjoyed how good some of them really are. Hitchcock was a master as was Huston and some others.
