My Story..... After graduating from HD, I went to Clark College in Atlanta, GA. Robin Gould was also there. We quickly became friends and encouraged each other as we tried to navigate the Atlanta University Center and being in the south. I initially went to school to become a doctor but quickly realized that science was my weak subject. So instead of becoming a pediatrician, I thought I'd enjoy Physical Therapy. I was unsuccessful in that arena as well and in my senior year of college, decided to change my major to sociology. I then went on to graduate school, earning a Masters Degree in Medical Sociology and a graduate certificate in social gerontology. Somewhere along the line I got pregnant, took a year off from grad school, had my daughter, worked for a year and then returned to complete my master's program. I worked in corporate America and hated it, but it paid the bills and I was greatful. I then landed a teaching job at my alma mater, stayed there for 10 years, and began working on my doctorate. In the midst of all that schooling, I got married and had 2 other children, got divorce and remarried. In 1999 I moved to Maryland and I've been here ever since teaching at a University.
