Nita's Story
After Cedar Lake, I got my GED, since I quit my senior year. I then worked for 2 years in Ohio, at a dry cleaners. Bought a car, had a live in boyfriend, then decided to go to college. I went to Southern College in Tenn. because my mom worked for the conference and I got a discount on tuition.
That lasted for about a year, then I met a guy at a leadership conference and moved to Nebraska to be with him, while going to Union college. We got engaged briefly, but I couldn't picture myself as a ministers wife, so we broke up and I moved back to Michigan. Worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Lansing for a few years, then back to school part time at LCC a Jr. college (a lot of credits didn't transfer). Work, work, then started Michigan State.

rt a new life. Hand to mouth for a while, worked as a baker, and then met a nice man and we lived together. He went up to Alaska to work on the pipeline, and I took over his job of apartment manager for a 48 unit building in downtown Seattle.
Several years later, we moved to an island in the Puget Sound, found jobs, and after several years of work and play decided to get married. We have been together for 14 years as of next week, 7 of those we have been married. We have a 6 year old boy, own a little cottage on an acre of good land near the little village of Vashon, and live happily.
I am hoping to cut back on my full time job, and help Dan, my husband with his electrical contracting business. I also want to find time to go back to school and get my Masters in Information Science. Our time is filled with work, our house, (which needs a lot of work), and family time which fills in all the rest.
