Nolan's Story

Here is a brief bio to cover the 45+ years post- high school graduation. As many of you may recall, I went to Princeton after Rochester High. Then an MD and PhD at the University of Pennsylvania, a post-doc and pediatric residency in Philadelphia. I joined the faculty at the University of Toronto, which is where I was when I attended my last Rochester High reunion. I joined the pharmaceutical company Merck & Co. in the mid-80's, where I was head of immunology research. In 1993 I started a biotech company in Princeton, NJ, Pharmacopeia (NASDAQ:PCOP) where I was head of research, and 15 years ago, moved to California as head of R&D at another biotech, Cytokinetics...Expand for more
(NASDAQ:CYTK). Until recentlyI was CEO of Tunitas Therapeutics, a private biotech company focused on novel therapeutics for severe allergic diseases, such as asthma and food allergy. I am now a partner at a biotech venture investment firm, Satter Investment Management. I have been married for 47 years; Elaine and I have 3 boys (men). Josh, a professional actor and teacher (Hairy Alice strikes again) lives in Las Vegas and my first grandchild was born recently. Yari is a post-doctoral fellow in neurobiology at Harvard and is married to another scientist; they recently moved to California. Adam is married, is an an attorney in NYC and recently had a little girl.
