Norma's Story
Military
I enlisted in the California Air National Guard, 129th Rescue Wing, Moffett Federal Air Field, CA on August 4 1979 and Retired with the same unit on October 6 2002 as a Senior Master Sergeant (E-8).
The best job I ever had during my 23 years, 1 month and 29 days was of First Sergeant (for Support Group, Maintenance Squadron and Wing Operations) and my worst was as a guard at San Jose Airport after 9/11.

a and experiencing looking down on two continents at the same time.
My first ANG job was Biomedical Equipment Repair (Repairing of all types of medical equipment and which I still do today) and my last was as the Superintendent of the Services Flight (we cooked our troops hot meals in a portable kitchen, made sure they had tents and cots, supplied board games, sports equipment, books and the hardest was processing the bodies of our fallen comrades to come home to their families with dignity and honor during training deployments or in time of war).
My military career was:
"The BEST descision I ever made in my entire life"!
