Life
This summer (Aug-Oct/2007)I finally took my long awaited "road trip" starting in South Carolina and working my way through all the southern states with a 4 day layover in Texas to visit friends from England I had not seen in 47 years. I made a stop in Phoenix where my thermometer registered 123 degrees!!! Some heat wave! I finally made my way to Southern California for 2 weeks where I treated myself to a birthday vacation in Laguna Beach. Wow! It is beautiful there. I managed a 2 day visit in Fullerton with a friend from my years in England. Then it was on to San Jose to see my best friend from high school and finally meet her husband and we managed a day trip to San Francisco. I visited another friend from England in Sacramento and then started back across the midwestern states, visiting old school friends along the way. What fun that...Expand for more
was! Then I turned northward and headed for Gwinn where I had a wonderful week visiting my old haunts and finding my way around better than I did when I lived there. The leaves were turning as I left and headed for New England where I stayed with my sister, Dot in Connecticut for 11 days. Then it was back to Pennsylvania to see another good friend and finally I just slowly drove on home. I was on the road in my little sports car (my Grannymobile) for 6 weeks and traveled over 8500 miles through 26 States and loved EVERY minute of it. Not bad for an old gal who had never been out west. I hope to do it again someday! I found many of the friends I visited through the Classmates site (since 2003 when I began using a computer) and have found many more that I would loved to have seen, but my timing was off in some cases. Maybe next trip....
