Norman's Story
Healthy and happy, Now retired (2015) and living in northern California (Sacramento area). Good life, wife and family. Two adult daughters, both doing well.

Work Was:
US Air Force - 72 -76
Rehabilitation psychology and counseling. After 20 years of self-employment I took a position with the Dept. of Veterans Affairs as a rehabilitation counseling supervisor serving disabled veterans from Bakersfield to the Oregon state line. Was with VA for 15 years. Great job! Hard work, but great job. Would not want to have been anywhere else. Ended up overseeing 4,000 disabled veteran cases and...Expand for more
supervising a staff of 40. By the time retirement case 70% of the veterans were from the wars in the middle east. Like I said, hard work but rewarding.
Work is:
Volunteer laborer and leadership District Coordinator with Team Rubicon, a disaster response NGO providing US and international disaster intervention, medical team deployment, and housing rebuild efforts around the world. Second focus is on successful veteran transition to civilian live.
Fun Is:
Time with Ruth (wife) and with daughters and grandson (Jessica, Nicole and Weston). Reading. Working in my shop. Fly fishing. US and world travel. Drawing and watercolors.
Drag Is::
Knees that are shot (3 major repair jobs). Working to not get any fatter than I am already.
