Norman's Story

Thanks for visiting. Unfortunately since I live in China now, Facebook is blocked and I can only respond if I travel outside and happen to check, so apologies for very slow replies. Also, at this point I do not plan to subscribe to classmates so will not be able to pick up messages unless it's free. In any case...nyen zero one <hot-mail> is my add. To bore you further... LHS seems like many life times ago. Lately I have been contacted by old friends that have found me via Facebook and now via Classmates. So, for those who may be interested, here are some answers to the most common questions... After LHS... Graduated from Seton Hall U. Started a Property Investment & Development Company with friends during University Worked in NYC as a Mgt Consultant within the financial sector 13+ years ago (1995)... Seconded to Japan on assignment (1 yr) Seconded to Hong Kong (6 years) Moved to Beijing, China (3 years) Moved to Shanghai, China (3 years so far) For the last 16 years I've taken on jobs within the financial services sector that required extensive traveling...initially in the USA, then to Asia and a bit to UK/Europe. One of my favorite activities is traveling...but only if it isn't work related. Out of all the places I've been to...Expand for more
, Tokyo was my favorite place to live - extremely CRAZY - but best if you are single. Not married yet - for anyone who has been to or lived in Asia, you may be able to guess why No kids that I know of I don't know if I can move back to the states - more opportunities in Asia. When I first moved to Asia I thought I would be here a maximum of 2 to 3 years, then return to the states. However, Asia has a lot to offer, especially the major cities. From crazy parties, great truely international social scene, the relatively easier way to network. However, Asia seems to be better for those who are business oriented as opposed to family minded. Yes...I've seen some crazy things here - from the very dodgy and corrupt to the glitz and glamor. Asia is very different in most aspects, but especially with respect to access. It isn't too difficult to get invited to the top parties are enter into exclusive clubs; however, I would have no idea how to do the same in NYC or LA. Asia is exciting and the opportunities are abundant, whether you are looking for a senior position in an international firm or wish to do something entrepreneurial If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Hopefully you can tell me a bit about yourself as well.
