Norman's Story

I am a risk taker. I might even put a condom on my head to make a point that condoms alone don't provide safe sex for teens. My health classes have done a number of community service projects that have improved Grant and helped our community from planting and bark dusting the front entry, painting the cafeteria, and visiting retirement homes. These projects are always done outside school time and usually on the weekend. We have done a couple of wellness 10 mile bike rides along with a visit to OMSI that have been highly successful. At the end of the year 2011we will did a 24 mile bike ride to Gresham and back with a meal at my house for participants. Also we took a group of students to the beach for a community service project was dynamic, along with a project to the Zoo, humane society, Oregon Food Bank and Audubon Society. We organized a folk/50's dance and a 80's Retro dance last year, and this year we did a Dance From Heaven and Health and a Luau Dance. All great successes. Mr. Scott will retire from Grant and PPS at the end of June 2012 after 36 years of teaching!".
