Michael OBrien:  

After graduating from Platt High in 73, I began working for the Southern New England Phone Company in August of that year. I married Susan Moyette '74 and we lived in Meriden, Wallingford and Middlefield. Our daughter Erin Elizabeth was born in 1984 in Meriden. In 1990 we moved to upstate New York where I transferred to the New York Telephone Company and worked in New York's capital of Albany. I started painting and showing my work around 1992. I have been very lucky in that I have had great success with the sale of my work here locally, in this country as well as Canada and Europe. I traveled to Ireland in 1994 as a guest of the Lord Mayor to attend and participate in thier annual art show. It was one of the highlights of my career. I also have the honor of having one of my pieces in former President Bill Clinton's library. My wife and I separated in 1996 and I came out of the closet as a single gay man.
