Olga's Story
I don't know how many people actually remember me outside my general circle of friends. It's o.k. though because I'm afraid I don't have really clear memory of too many people either! But, for those of you who do remember me, here's my story. I went to El Camino two years after high school. I met my husband then and decided to go in a different direction. He and I became very adventurous, and left the city every week-end, holiday summer, whenever we could. We decided we were leaving because we didn't want to be city kids anymore. We started seriously looking at other places to move, and after hanging out in a few different places, we moved to a very small town in southern Oregon. Caves in Cave Junction. We raised three sons who are now grown and living in Eugene, Oregon. Our oldest is married and two months from having their first child, our first grandchild. Our middle son is getting married to his girlfriend of 5 years, this summer. Our youngest is our third to graduate from the University of Oregon, in June. I have been a Head Start teacher for twenty-five years now. I'm not a big money maker, but I have really enjoyed my work with young children and their families. My husband is semi-retired now. We have a large community of friends here and have never regretted our choices. We still have family and some friends there in the greater L.A. area, and make visits occasionally. So that's pretty much it in a nutshell. So far, so good!
