Olga's Story
Life
Married for 18 years, 4 children (Austin-16, Avery-13, Bella-5, Mercedes-4), 2 dogs and a home in North Dallas. Still enjoy a cold brew -- no more BFSH...
My kids still can't believe I was on drill team, til they see the pics -- then question; what happened to your body? Answer: kids!
School
My biggest crush, at first, was Mike Perez -- 'Fro and all; then it was definitely Scott West. HOT! and with a personality.
There were three teachers that inspired me - Art in 10th, and 2 coaches from Hoffman -- names? I'd have to find my yearbooks. Many don't know what life was like in the Richardson household. Of the many days I missed, it was because of an abusive/alcoholic father. Then, the choice to run-away in 10th and move to Corpus Christi - what was I thinking?
The funniest thing 'I thought' I did - actually, it was me and Kim Cook... we were headed to Dallas for drill team camp. The bus stopped south of Dallas for a restroom break - come on, 50+ girls on a 4 hour drive; what do you expect. I stayed on the bus, but Kim took off and ran back screaming about 'slot machines' in the men's room and asked if I had any quarters. Slot machines, in the bible-belt? Not what you might think... We proceeded to make the purchase for 'french ticklers' and a 'flavored' variety. Needless to say, when we got back to the bus, one of the senior girls unwrapped Kim's choice, tossed it around and it landed in someone's bag of chips. Yikes! Once in Dallas, we were sent to Ms. Elder's room for a lecture and threat to be sent back home. We giggled down the hall and laughed so hard back in our room. The rest was history!
The ONLY thing that I would change from my life: NOT having to grow up without a loving and kind father; to have a devoted and spiritual mom; and, to have been heavily infl...Expand for more
uenced by my friends' parents who had strong moral character.
I am so proud to say, those life lessons were for a reason... When I met Dalton, I not only vowed for 'happily ever after, til death do us part, for better or best', but also that I would be the absolute best wife and best mom that I could possibly be. Also, for my choices to honor not just me and my immediate family, but my Heavenly Father.
I have an incredible "Hot & with a great personality" stud for a husband -- to date, it's been 22 years in partnership. We're blessed with 4 awesome kids - 1 boy and 3 girls; who knows how many more will come. Yes! You heard that right.
I started college late; in my early 20's I decided to leave Houston to attend North Texas State University in Denton (north of Dallas, now UNT) majoring in Fashion Design -- yes, those years of sewing and drawing paid off, and since then, I have never looked back! We lived for a short period in Florida -- I'd go back in a heartbeat!
Currently, we are expanding our business and looking to develop offices in Austin, possibly Houston, in Oklahoma, New Mexico and Colorado. Life is not only good... it's GREAT! and getting better everyday!
You can make a difference in someone else's life - especially in your children's lives. Get involved, get to know their teachers, friends, and their friends' parents and siblings. It can make a positive difference and impact them for your lifetimes.
Workplace
It took me too many years in 'corporate america', to realize... the only way to succeed was to make the decision. Opportunities are made - success is not an accident... Open up a door and walk thru it - we were ALL destined for something greater. The big questions to ask yourself: Do you want more in life than you have had? Do you believe in yourself?
