Olivia's Story
Okay? So what have I been up to since Shonto Boarding School days. After 8th grade, I went on the Indian Placement Program and lived in Logan, UT and went to Logan High. High school was okay, but the Placement Activities were fun and memorable. Made a lot of great friends and hoping to get back in touch with them. I graduated high school in 1992 and went onto Brigham Young University. Went for two years (later finished in 2001) and got married. Had my daughter, Courtney, the first year. I married Roland Ben from Aneth, UT and we are going on 13 years of marriage. I live in Orem, Utah and currently I am a stay at home mom. I love it! merican community here in Utah Valley. I volunteer with the Adopt-A-Native Elder Program, the local Title VII Indian Education and I am also active in Indian Education issues here in Utah. I feel that we can all make a difference and it's important for our children see that we have a voice even though we are small in number. I served in the PTO (PTA) at my daughters school Freedom Academy for three years, one year serving as President.
