Orville's Story

Life If I'm around and able , I'll try to come see you guys at the fiftieth reunion . But then again I'm not sure if I will or not!!!! ??????????????????? You guys will not miss a beat if I don't show! All of you are part of my memories. A time from the past. Some good, some bad. I have nothing to gain by trying to relive the past. I do good just getting through each day of the present time. I can only think of one more reason to come back to Kentucky. I only hope I will be able to accomplish that task when it happens. You guys can handle it! I'm not needed. School Finaly finished a few weeks after you guys graduated . Sorry that I didn't apply myself more when I should have . Just didn't have my head in the right place at that time. College No formal college..........just my degree from the "School of Hard Knocks" . Workplace After graduation I worked at Graybeal's Plumbing ; two years in US Army ; Worked at Roll Forming in Shelbyville a year ; moved to Charlotte , N.C. and worked at General Tire building car tires for about 3 years ; moved to Hattisburg , MS working for an Electrical Construction Co. for about 6 months ; Started working for Southern Railroad and moved to Birmingham , AL . Had to retire on disability in 2000 . Still here . Will be planted here in Dixie beside my wife. Military Went through Basic and AIT at Fort Knox . Sent to Germany latter part of 1965 . Stayed in Munich u...Expand for more
ntil discharge in early 1967 . I now wish I had volunteered to serve in Vietnam. Doesn't matter if anyone remembers me or not . I am the only soul to whom it is a concern . I only wish I knew then what I know now . It might have saved a little wear and tear on the internal parts . I don't think I would have changed anything . It was just good hands on experience . And I had a little fun out of it all ! If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to the kids, then spend the rest on gold coins, savings and sit on it !. I share my home with Pumpkin ; a little female dog , which I find adorable . She will be 15 years old in October 2011. She is so much like a small child, and yet she is demanding as an old cranky woman . She is all I have left of the last 30 years of my life. I will hate when I will have to let her go. It seems as though all I have cherished slips from my grasp. [3-10-12] Had to take my Baby Girl To the Vet today to have her put down. It was around 1PM when she passed away on Saturday, March 10th 2012. Her health just got so bad. They found spots on her liver over a year ago, now they found spots on her lung. She started having trouble breathing two days ago. she was coughing a lot and was having trouble walking. I miss her so very much. To be truly happy, I would be living in Florida near a beach on the Gulf side, Doing what the natives do, with my late wife, Connie and my little Pumpkin.
