Orville's Story
My story is almost all about trekking all the trails south of the Colorado River (exception, Bass South) including the Nankoweap and the Clear Creek - at least 7 times). Have done 14 Rim-to-Rims -- 10 of them as 5 R-R-Rs in 4 consecutive summer months as a 69-year-old "Crazy Navajo" (what I am known by the Phantom Ranch workers). ars ago and have been upgrading it with solar paneling and a well. We have mature redwoods on the two acres. Have been retired for 10 years with a Professor Emeritus, Microbiology/Cell Biology, California State University, Northridge.
Since Deb is Scottish, we have been to Scotland at least 8 times -- our most recent was 3 and 1/2 weeks during April-May, 2016. Visited her father's first cousin twice in Glasgow before and after our visit to the Shetland Islands, The Orkneys, and the Outer Hebrides. We flew from London to Helsinki, Finland to LA in order to catch the second day of my 50th College Graduation Class Reunion in Santa Barbara, CA where Deb and I met in April 1967.
