Oscar's Story
Life
After High school, I attended CSUN as a Computer Science Major and Graduated with a BS in Business Administration in Accounting (I do not know what I was thinking). Worked at Arthur Andersen LLP in Los Angeles and Albuquerque,NM for six years (no longer around since the ENRON mishap..good thing I left). I got bored with the number crunching and took a long vacation to reassess my career. I decided to take some computer networking classes. Best decision I ever made (should have stayed with it in college!) Thereafter, I rode the dot com wave and got to work upgrading some large phone companies (GTE, MCIWorldcom) networks accross the nation for about three years. By some miracle, I was able to find a Network Administrator position in Valencia. It was great to drive 5 minutes to work for 6 years, but all good things sometimes have to end. Due to a better job opportunity, I found myself back at the school where I graduated with a job at the CSUN's Credit Union. I really enjoy my new career. Workplace
Upon graduating from college I started work at Arthur Andersen LLP. I worked at this company in the following areas: auditing, taxes and consulting. After six years of number crunching, business travel, moving to Albuquerque, NM and a few promotions, I threw in the towel and went back to school to learn about computer networking. This was one of the best decision's I ever made (the dot com explosion). After a year of computer training, I worked on upgrading GTE Telephone and MCI WorldCom's computer networks for about three years. I then found a good job as IT Manager Vista Controls in Valencia where I have been for the last 6 years. Vista was purchased by Curtiss-Wright Corp.(AKA- The Wright Brothers-a large Corp.) which have opened new areas for me to expand my career. Well after 6 years, I move on to a better opportunity at CSUN's Community Credit Union. It's the best job I ever had and it feels great to do a job that I can contribute to with all the education I have received from all my jobs and schools over the many years.
