PATRICIA KILEY:  

Our Family left Downers Grove in 1959 and moved to Eagle River, WI where we had a second home for about 10 years. We all loved it there so much, we made a permanent move. I am the only one of my siblings that has remained in the area for many years, but they all come back to visit. My youngest Sister, Lynne, has a second home about 20 miles away in Three Lakes, WI. Her permanent home is in Hales Corners, WI. Brother Bob lives in St. Charles, IL and Sister Kathy lives in Wimberley, TX--she'll be here for a month this summer with her husband Bill. After graduating from Eagle River High School, I attended college in Stevens Point, WI and married my Junior year. After staying in Point for a couple of years, we moved to the Bay View area of Milwaukee. During that time we had three children, Kathy who is now 49, Michael, 47 and Karen, 44. I left Milwaukee in 1972 and returned to Eagle River. We divorced soon after I left and I raised my children here in Eagle River. At that time they were 7, 5 and 2--best move I ever made. They all turned into functional, respected adults and have all remained in this area--which is not easy to do--good jobs are not plentiful here. Kathy is married to a local business man and has 3 children in college--she is director of youth ministries and IT in a local church, Mike is married and with one 17 year old son and has been a law enforcement officer in Eagle River for 21 years after serving in the military. Karen, my career girl, is single and lives with her significant other, Bill, in a golf community outside of Minocqua, WI called Timber Ridge about 30 miles from Eagle River.
