Pam's Story
Pam is currently living in Salt Lake City, Utah. After attending Isaac Newton Jr high followed Arapahoe High School, she later attended Barnes School of Commerce to become a Court Stenographer, until they abruptly terminated the program. Rocky Mountain reporting school absorbed the students for a short time until the owners were murdered by a former disgruntled student.
Got married the following summer. Moved to Arkansas where we added our only son to the family 2 years later, then Thailand, and then Spokane, where our two daughters were born. Attended Spokane Falls Community College and enrolled in both bookkeeping and accounting to enhance my confidence and knowledge in my career as a civillian working my on a military base.
Following divorce, moved to Utah near my relocated parents. Attended Westminster college to pursue a paralegal certification. Ended up working as a licensed and bonded private investigator for over a decade, then using those super powers for the rest of my life. Decades later, taught dance as a part time job. Met my new soul mate in nov of 1989 at a dance. He was a complete and utter gentleman. Opened doors, an expert of courtesy, my daughter was the second in my family to fall in love with him. As an equal partner, he encouraged me to pursue some pretty hefty accomplishments, starting with opening a dance studio , and then become a dance event promoter.
That in turn sparked the development of the Utah Country Western Dance Challenge that operated from 1994-1998. A dance ev...Expand for more
ent that attracted hundreds of dancers from at least 12 other states, sanctioned by the United Country western dance council. The final event at the salt lake Hilton hotel attracted over 700 attendees.
Followed 10 years later by the Salt Lake swing dance invitational. That event ran in the fall from 2004 until 2008. It was a great five year run.
From 1979 until 1998 I pursued a large number of careers in addition to my private businesses, as well as teaching in the various school districts within their continuing education system as a dance instructor.
I started my postal career in 1998 while teaching and while attending college classes in criminal justice. I retired from the post office in 2013 and graduated from Salt Lake community college criminal justice program in 2015.
It was around that time that my oldest daughter suggested a career change. I now sell healthcare insurance policies to senior citizens, working for one of the largest Medicare marketplace brokerages in the United States.
My soulmate lost his life in 2004 and I became a strong survivor. My children my grandchildren and my great grand children are a big part of my life these days
I truly hope that someday soon I will be able to fully retire and do some well-deserved traveling which would probably incorporate one of my hobbies genealogy. I have done a lot of family history work, which took over where my father left off. One never really does know what the future has in store for them, but I think mine is going to be a lot of fun.
