Pam's Story

Like many of us, my most important people in my life are my kids. They are quite the handful - 10 yr old adopted twins. Grace & Lily were born in 2000 and I never ever in my wildest dreams would have guessed that parenting was so challenging! Silly me thought "if my Mom can have twins at 43 so can I!" but in my delusional state of mind forgot that she had a huge extended family in her area. Grace and Lily are delightful and I can't wait 'til they become teenagers! (there goes those delusions again!) YIKES! Stay tuned. Education/Career I went to Boston College because I heard that it was a great school and it was far away from my dys"fun"ctional family. So, since my career goal was to "help people" I became a Psychology major also to understand my exciting childhood. Upon graduation I worked at Project Portals, East Orange General then went back to Boston and got a job at McLean Hospital, a Psychiatric Teaching Hospital. Loved my manager and wanted to be a manager just like her when I grew up (will I ever grow up?) so a few years later I went to business school at Northeastern Universit...Expand for more
y in Boston to get a MBA. Then I got a job in one of the "Baby Bells" (aka phone company)then I worked in the audit dept in banking when the real estate market hit the skids which was not a pretty picture. Very depressing and so was I. That's when I took stand-up comedy class at Cambridge Adult Ed since I thought that it would cheer me up. Graduation was open mic night at Catch A Rising Star in Harvard Square. Many open mic nights, acting classes, extra work, joined the Screen Actors Guild - I was living my dream... Then came reality. Struggling actor's life got old, student loan to payoff, and back to getting a real job. Next I found my niche - quality assurance engineering and tested software for many years for a large financial services company in the Boston area. I loved that job and that company but decided to stay home with the kids. I'm now living in southern New Hampshire, single again and exploring career options. Life is good! Enough about me, let's hear about you! Best wishes to you and your loved ones and hey, didn't we have fun? Remember, life begins at 50!! Luv ya, Pam
