Pam's Story
Life
Two awesome sons who are quickly becoming young men -- ages 24 and 21 as of summer 2017. Splitting work time between an autism clinic and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, as a clinical consultant for the state's behavioral treatment Medicaid benefit. Currently attending Heartland Community Church in Sun Prairie, and slowly phasing out after 5 years assisting with a church plant in Jefferson, WI. Great husband. Great dogs. Great home. Grateful for many things.
College
Graduated from Beloit College in 1989 with a double-major in psychology and English comp. Worked briefly in Chicago as a software analyst, then returned to grad school at University of Wisconsi...Expand for more
n-Madison to pursue a PhD in psychology. Although I was on the "fast track," I had to take a 4 year leave of absence to care for my son, who had been diagnosed with autism at age 3.5 years. I defended my dissertation in December 2001, with a PhD in developmental psychology.
Workplace
I am privileged to work with some of the best clinicians around at a clinic in Madison WI that serves children with special needs, especially autism. I train and supervise therapists and do a lot of parent education. I am also a mom of a young adulyt on the autism spectrum, so I am blessed to have both professional and parent insights.
