Pam's Story
Life since RMHS:
Hollins University (BA in Politics, 1970) and University of Hawaii/East West Center (MA in Asian Studies, 1972). Married Ron Deutch in 1979. Commissioned a U.S. Foreign Service Officer (FSO) in 1981 and retired in 2012, having served, interalia, at U.S. Embassies in Indonesia, China/Taiwan, Kenya, the Congo -- and as U.S. Ambassador to Mongolia (2003-2006) and to Burundi (2009-2012). FSO) and I are currently residing in Kerrville, Texas on our 45-acre ranchette. I ride competitively in American Paint Horse Association-sponsored Western horse shows on my 9-year old registered gelding, HOOS Real. Ron and I work part-time for the U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC which enables us to visit with friends and family (stepson and 4 grand-daughters in Woodbridge, VA) on the East Coast once a year.
