Pamela's Story
Pamela Barratt White, Class of '64: That photo IS a "fresh" photo---about a year ago. I am still in Huntsville, AL (Rocket CIty USA) since about 1966. My dear husband, Jay, died unexpectedly in August 2010. We were married 43 years when he died. At that time, I had to come out of retirement, step up to the plate, and step into running the company. I am now CEO/Owner of System Dynamics Int'l, Inc. by sad default. The company specializes in all aspects of unmanned air vehicles, and is an engineering support firm to the Army and other DoD and commercial entities. Keeps me very busy these days as I am taking it in a new direction. I have a great group of friends and interests in North Alabama. Of course, my dear family continually enriches my life. My oldest daughter, Brandi, lives in Huntsville, and we are business partners in Leviathan Media, LLC, an advertising company. I am the "silent" partner. We are constanty in touch, especially since we live only a mile apart. She's not currently married and has no children; very independently happy with that. My young...Expand for more
est daughter, Emily, lives in Peachtree Corners (formerly Duluth), GA; it's an incorporated city just outside of Atlanta. She and her husband, Mike Finn, just blessed me with my first grandchild, a grandson. I now joyfully add monthly trips to the Atlanta area (4 hours away) to my agenda to be with them and my grandson, James Callan Finn. Weekends between I usually spend at the lake condo and marina. Most people don't know that the TVA dam system, courtesy the Tennessee River, has made Alabama replete with beautiful lakes! We sailed one lake for about 11 years until we traded the sailboat for a power boat (I prefer sailing). I still paint and do artistic things, but probably the biggest surprise---even to me---is that I am an avid birdwatcher. It's a wonderful, anywhere-24-7 hobby for all ages. Until recently I used to teach "Birding 101" at our botanical gardens. That's about it from me for now. Would love to flesh this out in person with all of you and for you to fill me in on your last 50 years. Wow. Fifty years. Take care. Look forward to seeing you soon!
