Pamela's Story
Life
I am currently married and living in Florida. I have lived here 17 of the last 20 years. I love the sun (hate the hurricanes)and water. We have a bass boat and go fishing quite a bit. I also love to go treasure hunting with a metal detector on the beach. I have 1 child, 2 stepkids, 4 grandchildren and a mutt named Tiki. (I also have 2 stepkids and 4 grandkids from a previous marriage.)
I didn't go to college, but did go to the IBM computer center back in 1977 when computers were huge, and learned how to operate them. I worked for a pharmacy chains accounting department doing insurance billing. I learned programming and bookkeeping from books and experiance.
I then worked as an accountant for 19 years, then started selling Nascar diecast cars and memorabilla on E-bay. I was making more part time on the internet so I quit my job in 2001. I am a night owl and stay up until 3 or 4am playing on Pogo, surfing the web, reading and making craft stuff. My husband is a truck driver working nights so it works out great.
I have been married 4 times but number 2 and 4 are the same person. I got married in 1972 and we were together 8 years. I married again in 1982 for 2 years (and married the same guy again in 2002) In the meantime I was married to someone else for 15 years. Fortunately for me, they all like each other and get along very well.
I attended the class reunion, which was fun, just to see what everyone...Expand for more
looked like now and what they were doing. I think we have aged very well. lol.
I really don't have any life goals. I just take it as it comes and try to make the best of it. (Though of course we all hope for "world peace".)
I quit smoking after 30 years when my mother died of lung cancer. I am still trying to get my daughter to quit. I have had a few medical problems over the years and a few surgeries, but am basically healthy.
I think I am pretty much the same person as I was back then. I am still somewhat of a loner. I am friendly to everyone, but don't really have any "best friends". I pretty much do what I want to, when I want to. I don't worry about or even try to fit in. I always root for the underdog, and am willing to help anyone if I can.
If anyone wants to write, feel free to. I would love to hear what you have been up to also.
updated 4/09....Add 3 more grandchildren and a very worn out daughter. She had a surprise baby and a bigger surprise less than a year later with twins. They are a handfull!
I had a heart valve transplant 2 years ago and am doing great.
For the last 4 years I have been working as a supervisor for a company which is contracted by the county, to run the concession stands at an Arena, exhibition hall, softball complex, major league baseball stadium and soccer complex. I work all kinds of venues and a lot of concerts. Its a lot of fun and can be real challenging at times.
