Pamela's Story

Military I was somewhat older than the average recuit - 23 at the time. I joined mostly because I saw it as a way out of Michigan. My first tour of duty was at Lakehurst, New Jersey to learn to become a weather person. My next 4 years were served in Yuma...Expand for more
, Arizona, with side temporary duties to California several times. I have the distinction of being the first woman Marine to serve in the weather office in Yuma. I find it strange that I keep in touch with my military friends more than my high school friends.
