Robert's Story
Life
My Spouse
We met as a Blind Date New Years Eve 1963. We were supposed to go to Pacific Ocean Park with another couple, but found it had gone out of business. We went to a Drive-in movie and saw McKlintock, staring John Wayne and kissed in New Year 1964. We've been married since 1967 and had two of our own children and about 12 other kids that stayed with us for one reason or another.
My Pets
The dogs have been a couple of shelties, a doberman-shepard mix and a German shepard & ? mix, a Catahula Leopard Dog & now an Australian Cattle Dog our cats have all been just cats.
My Job
I worked as the Classified (non-teaching staff) Personnel Director for a number of So Cal School Districts. I've worked in personnel administration for an elementary (until I retired), a high school...Expand for more
, two unified and one county office school districts. I retired in 2012.
My hobbies are surfing, just on weekends until I retired (longboards of course recent picture posted),bowling (a couple of 300 games) and restoring a street rod 1957 Ford, same model I had just after high school. I also have a 2008 Shelby GT for my daily driver. I'm having a great time staying young.
I also had a great time at both the Class of '61 Reunion & the Reunion Cruise to Mexico in Sept. 2003. It was fun seeing everyone and getting to know one another again. Since then, I've kept in touch with several classmates from the old neighborhood (Torrance Gardens). For a number of years I'showed my 57 at the THS Alumni Day Car Show. Until the Car Shows on campus we’re cancelled. Too bad that was great fun.
