Pamela's Story

After high school, I attended UNL for 1 semester and hated it, so I transfered to SCC and got an associate degree in childcare and worked in a child development center for a while. Then I went to travel school and worked as a travel agent for 2 1/2 years. I got to do some traveling during this timeframe. That's also when I got into latin, ballroom and country dancing, a passion I still enjoy. During my time as a travel agent, I ended the long-term relationship I'd been in since high school. We had grown up and become two completely different people. I started working for the City in 1997 and went to school at night at Doane College. I graduated with 2 bachelor degrees in 2001. I met my husband in December of 1997 while working for the city. We married in 2000. I inherit...Expand for more
ed three fantastic kids (teenagers) when we got married. All three are now in college and doing very well. We also had another child, who is 5 and in kindergarten and is wonderful. We also have one dog and one cat. We like to travel. We go to Chicago and San Diego about once a year and we also have enjoyed trips to Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Mexico and several places in the U.S. We love to snorkel & swim and my husband loves surfing (he is from San Diego). We also enjoy going to Museums, aquariums & zoos. We've also taken up dancing again. I love to shop and my most current addiction is designer purses (you can never have too many) :) I'm involved a Public Risk Management group (through work) called PRIMA. I really enjoy being on the board and attending the annual conferences.
