Pamela's Story
Life
Who can possibly believe that's its been over 25 years since we graduated! As most of you are seeing your children off to college, I've just seen my niece off to college (Bryn Mawr)...
I moved to Boston in 1980, just missing the Phillies winning the World Series. (I've now become a die hard Red Sox fan..take a seat you New York fans!...The Curse of the Bambino has been lifted!) I came here for adventure with two nurses I met at Pennsylvania Hospital, the first position I held post graduation. We had a wild time, Cape Cod houses during the summer, ski chalets in North Conway in the winter...then we all decided to get married.
I took my marriage sabbatical in the Upper Valley (of the CT river aka VT/NH border)...the plan was to open a B&B..I had worked at the Brigham and Women's Hospital surgical ICU for 8 years and was ripe for a ch...Expand for more
ange...the B&B never became a reality, nor did the marriage, but I did build deep and everlasting roots in Vermont.
I came back to Boston and have held a variety of positions in healthcare administration leading me to an executive position in a small Medicaid focused HMO in Boston. I earned a Masters degree along the way as well as travelling to Africa (Tanzania), Europe (England, France, Italy), all through the Caribbean and Mexico.
I've learned the perspective that life is what happens to you while you're making other plans so I continue to make other plans...(and am ready for what life may deal me)...
I'm not sure if its the 'time of life' or the multiple disasters (9/11, the tsunami, Katrina) that has brought me here to reconnect but if feels like its time to build the bridges with my past...anyone interested in meeting me halfway???
