Pamela's Story
Life
My Spouse
You can't make this up! I met my husband, Bruce at the laundry mat on Main St Peru. He was a roommate at the base with a friend's fiancee. We were introduced, dated, and married November 28, 1971. I had graduated from nursing school and we were transferred to Riverside, Calif. for the last year of his time in the Air Force. After that year we moved to Connecticut; where Bruce was from.
My Pets
WE'VE HAD MANY!!! Now, "buddy" an adopted Schnoodle Schnauzer/poodle) He;s like a 2 yr. old child. We had 2 golden retrievers-Cinnamon Ginger and Ginger Ale-both now deceased, 3 cats-Rusty, Inky, and Velvet-all deceased, rabbits, fish, hamsters, ghinea pig, chickens, ducks; and, finally 2 african pigmy goats I bought Bruce for his 40 b-day. (He is a frustrated farmer)Ha Ha! He named them for his deceased grandmothers (Takes jewish tradition a bit further)Alma & Ida lived for 12 years.
My Kids
My daughter Jodi is 25. She graduated from Sacred Heart University in Ffld. Ct. with a degree in Biology. She will be attending The Massachusetts College of Pharmacology and Health Sciences the Fall of 2001 for the Physician's Assistants Program. She was a high-energy, active student in high school. She was a cheerleader, in chorus, had several leads in school and community plays, danced, and plays the piano and sings. She went to American University in D.C. f...Expand for more
or a year and a half before tranferring to Sacred Heart. She now lives in Albany, N.Y. til the fall when she will move to Boston for grad school.
Adam is 20 years old. He played soccer since he was 5 and became the team goalie at 14. He played until the first week of his senior year when he severed a tendon in his finger, causing permanant damage. Luckily he found an interest in our local Fire Dept. with several friends that year. He was the first responder to a serious accident in front of our home where three of his classmates were critically injured. He has passed Firefighter I and II, still volunteers and drives the trucks as well. He is going to be a Junior at the University of New Haven, Ct. He graduated with double majors in Fire Science and Arson Investigation; and a minor in Criminal Justice. He is now a full-time firefighter in Stamford, Ct. We are extremely blessed to have such great young adults as our children!
Adam was honored by The American Red Cross and St. Vincent's Swim Across the Sound as a hero for his response with two other Trumbull firefighters for an accident 1/4 mile from our home. A mother and two small dogs were killed when hit from behind by a drunk driver. Adam stayed with the then 12 yr. old girl who was pinned in the car. Their collective decision not to remove her before EMT;s arrived saved her legs and her life!
