Pamela's Story
I was born in Roslyn Heights but grew up in Garden City, Long Island. I was lucky enough to spend summers on Shelter Island, NY - a truly magical place!
After graduation from GCHS, I attended Centenary College for Women in Hackettstown, NJ and went on to Dallas, Texas where I finished my undergraduate degree in Speech and Hearing at Southern Methodist University. I then went to Atlanta with a sorority sister (ADPi) where we both attended Emory University and shared our first apartment near Stone Mountain, Ga.
While working on my Masters in Speech Pathology and interning at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, I met my husband. We were married in 1973. We lived in Decatur, Ga. for three years. In 1976, I had two children; one in January and the other in December. It was a busy year!
We moved to Wilson, N.C. in the spring of '77 and lived there for 35 years. I worked as a Speech Pathologist for 15 years and then returned to school to get a Masters in Social Work. In 1991, I began a private practice in psychotherapy and w...Expand for more

This past year, we built a home in the mountains of South Carolina where we re-located in October. We are retired now and living a completely different life! Now I enjoy playing MahJongg, working in geneology, gardening and studying the stock market.
Life is good and we've been blessed with health and much happiness.
I have good memories of my time at GCHS, Masquers, Mrs. Spiers (rest her soul), the "green room", old boy friends, lifetime girl friends. I hope I'll never forget wonderful summers wearing my "signature" white wide brimmed hat while driving my Pontiac Firebird Convertible up and down Brander Pkwy, free rides on the ferry to summer classes at Southampton College (thanks guys), stopping for turtles, dancing the nights away(sometimes ON the tables)at the Chequit, 7&7's and playing pool in Southhold, sailing, walking and sunning at Shell Beach, lobster at The Barge and lobster salads at The Dory. What great times, great memories, great friends! Thanks to all who played a part!
