Bill's Story

Hi fellow classmates, hoping you and yours are doing well and are weathering 2020 as best as you can. My sympathies to all who have lost loved ones, whatever the reason. Back in 1979, I never imagined life for all of us would take the turn it has this year with the pandemic. I didn’t imagine that world violence would be worse today than back then, nor that racism and hatred would still exist in epic proportions. I didn’t imagine that “social media” would exist or change the world as it has, some for the positive and mostly for the negative. As an Editor of the school newspaper in high school, I wrote about the exciting future and world ahead for us, as well as satirical pieces about school that almost got me expelled ... Hopefully we have all had excitement, positives and good things in life to balance things out and keep our perspective no matter the times we are in. My story can be summed up like most stories. Ups and downs, triumphs and failures, joys and sorrows, gains and loss. I have been very happily married since 2015, and have 3 boys and a girl ranging from 18 months to 27 years old. I love parenthood more than anything. My wife is a very special person, a great Mama and the love of my life and soulmate. out her family at age 17, subsequently losing her only brother to terrorists, and then serving as a linguist for the U.S. Department of Defense in Iraq and Kuwait as a way of saying thank you for her safe life here. We treasure each day together knowing how short life is. After a 15 career as an international casino gaming business attorney, in 2001 I started my company, Lightstone Solutions, where I focus on international due diligence investigation and regulatory issues for a select group of private and governmental clients. My James Bond dreams played out well! I have been privileged to serve the public in various roles, primarily for at-risk youth, following in the footsteps of my own amazing Dad but never filling his shoes entirely. I also proudly serve as an ordained acolyte in the Armenian church alongside my 21 year old son. Most of us are seeing our 60s approaching rapidly. Although we didn’t foresee things being the way they are in 2020, it’s not too late to make an impact. It’s not too late to accomplish and achieve things. It’s not too late to dream and pursue those dreams. More than anything, it’s not too late to enjoy family and friends. If you remember me, and even if you don’t, feel free to reach out and say hello. As I said, life is short, make the most of it. Best, Bill
