Workplace
24 years at Merrill Lynch was an education in itself! I started at the bottom and worked my way up to Vice President of Operations & Telecommunications. I relocated from St. Paul to Jacksonville to Atlanta to Denver and then back to Jacksonville, and now to South Florida. My various positions had just enough travel involved to keep things interesting, and working with people from all over the world was a bonus that keeps paying dividends in a multitude of friendships. I "retired" in 1998 to spend more time with my daughter. Once she was in highschool, I returned to the workforce--same industry, less stressful job, fewer hours, and 10 minutes from home. Part time at a local bank..........why not go back into my career??? Because "I remember all the fun when I was in highschool and my parents worked".......therefore, I decided to keep my eyes on the house for a few more years yet!!!
Now she's in college at FSU and I am sure she's applying every bit of wisdom I crammed into her head...(between parties)....And my husband & I...Expand for more
moved further south in Florida. Crowded in the winter, with all the retirees looking for a place to warm up, but quite pleasant in the summer. Missing Minnesota dearly though, try to get up there in the summer each year.
The wizard wants to know what I learned from my kid...to be "flexible" and be "yourself". While I was somewhat shy in meeting new people, she dares to be herself, and to ---- with those that don't like it.
The wizard also whats to know what happened to my first crush....he is alive and well & living in Minnesota...While memories bring a special smile, I cherish more than anything the fact that we are still friends!
Now the Wizard wants to know how I dress....shorts & flip flops!!! My daughter is a fashion design major, I'll let her update Mom when she takes over Christian's spot on "Project Runway"!!
One do-over?? I'd never have married my first husband.
A childhood memory???? All the winter nights and weekends iceskating at East View playground. Paul Kutcher & Dave Kuther were like the God's of the rink!!!
