Pat's Story

Story has not changed much in the 40 plus years since h.s. graduation. Has it, can it....really have been 47 years since graduation? Am still learning constantly, taking classes, (mostly vocal/musical) at local junior colleges. Married, with three adult children, two sons-one daughter, five grandchildren-4 boys and one very precious granddaughter. I am a Christian, devoted to my faith. I sing as soloist in church, in duets, trios, groups, in choir. Sing at weddings, funerals. Just love music, always have, always will! Most recently hired to work in semi-professional Christmas Carolers Ensemble for the Christmas season....will perform at restaurants, malls, various events....dressed in full regalia. Love this so much! Not as shy as I believe I used to be. I remember feeling painfully shy sometimes; but loved people nonetheless. Loved school...just loved school so much! Loved most of my teachers, especial Senora Smith in Senior English Class and Spanish. She was a dear...and a great instructor. Really liked Ms. West in Journalism as well. Remember NOT liking Algebra/Geometry-UGH! But, now am actually at my age really interested in Algebra. May take a class soon, believe it or not?! Finally figuring it out! ha.ha. Better late than never, right? I am very interested in the world around me, people, current events, politics, past and current civilizations. Always loved history as well. es to mind, why do we always seem to repeat the mistakes made throughout the centuries? I try to contribute to charitable events as I am able, and to help our vets. Four of my five brothers were active military men. They served in various areas of the world during their years of service. One brother was a returning, surviving Viet Nam Veteran...he returned, but like all others who serve in war time (which Viet Nam was), he was never quite the same. The corsage I wore on my grad gown was sent to me by him. He was in Nam, and of course could not be there for my graduation. He wanted to be there as much as I wanted him there. Missed him so much. One other question, why do the young boys have to go fight the wars? Why not the middle and elder year politicians who get us into the wars....why cannot they go and give their lives instead? After all, they created the problems, not the kids. Finally, remembering my classmates today with much affection. Would love to hear from any/all of you. I know time changes us, some of us are no longer on this earth....but would enjoy hearing from those who are still among us. If there is a 1966 reunion coming up, please let me know about it. I would love to attend. I made it to Class of 1966 30th Reunion, but that was it. I live in California, and do not travel east often...but I would make the effort to see you all again. Love to all my classmates, Pat Murray Gratias
