Pat's Story
Sometimes in the mornings I would be hanging out with Christian friends at the Lutheran church (across the street from high school.)
After graduating from San Marin HS in 1975, I met Doug through his brother, Danny, on the CB radio, in 1978. We started dating and became local drag racers at Sears Point and Fremont Raceway. Doug and I got married in 1981. In 1985 bought 3 acres of orchard in Sebastopol. In 1993 did the same thing on 5 acres in Williams,Oregon and moved there. No kids, but I worked full time during the week, then to horse shows or trail rides on weekends. Doug was always fixing, buying and selling cars. His favorite thing to do was go through wrecking yards on the weekends, to see what kind of treasures he could...Expand for more
find. He would gather Ford 9-inch rear ends and re-sell them. I never had a career goal, since my main focus was on my horses (Tennessee Walkers and Arabians) We adopted Doug's daughter Sandi at age 12- (OMG she just turned 40) I had many different jobs over the years, and in 2005 got my class A license...now pulling bottom dumps and deliver rock and sand to local Shamrock plants.
Doug died :-( in 1995. I went to college for 2 years in Oregon, got 2 AAS degrees, then moved back to CA in 1999. I started a correspondence course in auto mechanics last year; maybe some day I will get through it. With that and working a lot, I stay busy. I sold my last horse in 1996, and live in a quiet place with my cat, Reno. No kids, sorry.
