Pat's Story
I suppose I got off on the wrong track early on. If I could go back and re-do, I'd be a lot more encouraging, helpful and involved. I regret being young, stupid and selfish, but I'll bet most of us could say that.
I left W.F. for Texas Tech. Finally got my B.B.A. in Business Management and got into the oil business until it cratered in the 80's. As I was graduating, my life basically fell apart due to my upside-downness... LOL.
Now that I'm a Christian (since 1979 or at least trying diligently to be), life became worth while.
I am now owner of a church financing company since 1989 and live in Amarillo. The company LEGALLY does business in 44 states in America (LOL!)
I'm married and will celebrate our 30th honeymoon this coming Feb. 8th. I have a daughter, Lara (1983), who lives in Austin now, is a chef at the New Iron Cactus in Bees Cave in (near) Austin. She got her inspiration from my passion for cooking.
My second born is Hunter Patrick Treat. He graduated from Lubbock Christian University in 2009 and was the youth minister at Raintree...Expand for more
Christian Church in Lubbock until recently. (He'd rather spend time with homeless people and got somewhat frustrated.) Unbelieveably, he is now a cook at Gator Bayou in Lubbock because he, like my Lara, loves to cook. I suppose they were around me too much! My kids spent much of their childhood in the kitchen with me. I LOVE cooking. If I ever get enough "mad" money, I'll probably fund a restaurant if we all can agree on a cuisine, theme and name!
My speciality is Chinese, but I do alot of Viet Namese, Thai and many other cuisines (including American and Mexican and seafood). Let's don't forget grilling on the Bar-Bee!
In the meantime, I simply want to say hello to all my "old" classmates and extend an invite and hotel to all who pass through Amarillo. Since the kids are gone, we have 3 empty bedrooms that have their own bathrooms in addition to the fact my bride and I are well on the way to being somewhat deaf from all the rock-n-roll of prior years! (Imagine that!)
Well, happy New Year (2010) to all and I'd love to hear from you. Pat
