Pat's Story
After graduation I moved to Ridgecrest, CA, where I married my first husband. After divorcing several years later, I moved to the Kern River Valley/Lake Isabella area where I took a job working for the local weekly newspaper. I lived in the Kern River Valley until I took a job with the State of California (in 1986) and moved to Tehachapi. My job took me to Blythe, CA for 10 years. After retiring due to an on-the-job injury in 1998, my husband Dave (whom I married in 1987) and I moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ. We moved back to the Lake Isabella area in 2000, where we lived until 2011, when we moved back to Lake Havasu City. After Havasu became too crowded and "big city" for us, Dave and I decided to make a huge move -- 500 miles from Havasu to Fallon, Nevada. We are now enjoying life in this...Expand for more
friendly, laid-back rural NV town. I have one stepson (my husband's son) four grandchildren, ranging in age from 12 to 20, and one great-grandson.
Dave and I have done quite a few fun things in the years since high school -- we have each taken a turn at flying a small plane (including take-off and landing); learned to snow ski; each of us had a Harley (we rode for 10+ years), and we learned to scuba dive. I was involved with an off-road racing team for a while and after high school graduation, I became involved with horses. In the past 48 years I have owned a number of horses, traveled to a lot of horse shows as an exhibitor, and was an instructor at an equestrian center. I currently own one registered American Quarter Horse mare and enjoy riding with several other like-minded women.
